Thunder repeat as 4A champions

With their lead down to two points early in the fourth quarter, the Spectrum Thunder responded with a 10-2 run, pulling away for a 81-66 victory over the Dover Bay Dolphins.
The victory gave the Thunder a second consecutive BC School Sports 4A Boys Basketball Provincial Tournament. It was the first all-Vancouver Island championship final in the 4A Tournament since 1978.
Spectrum led for most of the game with Tyler Felt scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds while J Elijah Helman finishing with 21. Harper Kopp – the Championship Player of the Game – had 15 points.
Dover Bay was the defending 3A Tournament champions before moving up to the 4A level this season after their school population increased.
Frank Linder led the Dolphins with 28 points with Joe Linder and Van Suiter chipping in 18 and 15 points, respectively.
The bronze medal game saw St. George’s School Saints Dorian Glogovac hit a late 3-pointer to defeat the Terry Fox Ravens 78-75. Glogovac averaged more than 38 points per game over the course of the tournament, including a 53-point effort in the semi-final round. He was named Most Valuable Player.
